Why do some jars make a “pop” sound when opened for the first time?
The typical popping sound only occurs with jars that were filled in a vacuum sealing system. If jars are sealed without vacuum, the lid is heated instead of the product. This process does not create a vacuum inside the jar, making it easier to open without the popping sound.
Why aren’t all jars vacuum sealed?
The vacuum-free sealing technique allows the product to be filled in a way that preserves nutrients, as it is not subjected to additional heating. If our jars do not “pop” when opened, it is not a sign of lack of quality or freshness.
Do all nut butters have a quality seal?
No, quality seals are only applied to some of our nut butters depending on the production facility. If the quality seal on your jar is damaged, please file a complaint.
